In June 18th, 2020 the YPSC members met with UNDP consultants to support them in drafting the socio-economic impact study of COVID-19 in Yemen where the members gave the consultants a clearer view on the economic challenges the private sector faces. The members discussed the several shocks hitting the country and the private sector including: the spread of Covid-19, the fall in external reserves (and its effects on the exchange rate, trade credit, and banking more generally), the fall in remittances, and the fall oil prices, on Yemen, specifically on the private sector.
